Egyptian Curses, sacrifices and mummies

I thought i'd start a thread for curses a la Kelly's vampires.

Especially since i finally saw The Ghoul.

I was not expecting it to be about an Egyptian pagan eccentric . It was well written and i found myself laughing out of amusement here and there, and really getting into Thesiger's closet christian servant of Karloff's character. Another treat is hearing the proper way to discipline someone who doesn't make coffee properly:

Strip them to the waist and lash them miles across the Saharrah till they are left there to be eaten by locusts.

I must threaten the folks at work with this if they use de-caf one more time.

It was also cool seeing the tables turned between Karloff and Thesiger. This time Karloff is master (but he still chokes the ol' doc to death anyway with a grunt).

As for other movies...I'm torn between Hammer's The Mummy and Universals The Mummy. And love Blood Feast. Haha. Yah it counts.

Anyone have a curses list? I want to see more movies.
Have a good Monday,
iris

Oh, all the Lon Cheney werewolf movies, with the obligatory gypsy rhyme:

Even the man who is pure at heart
And says his prayers at night
Can become a wolfman when the wolfbane blooms
And the autumn moon is bright.

The Boris Karloff mummy movies are good too. I always like the scenes where they kill all the slaves so no one can reveal the evil secret and the little bits from Swan Lake playing at emotional moments (such as they are).

I just picked up the Universal collectors edition of Mummy movies. Really sweet packaging and extra stuff. Of course David Skal (last seen on the Freaks collectors dvd) has a bit in the special features. When i saw that i couldn't help think of him as Heather Duke and Veronica's comment to her through the television screen: God Heather how many networks did you run to!. Granted i love the guy's Browning biography, but i think it's endearingly funny how he's getting play on all these dvds.

Anyway, i'll get to see the Mummy's Hand which is one that slipped past my radar.
